Product Designer

Product designer is the one who is responsible for design and development of Standard and Custom products, setting the brand product design language and ensuring the products are ready for manufacturing.

Vetting the customer / dealer drawings and helping them to value engg. and propose appropriate solutions for their requirements.

Product Designer responsibilities include defining product specifications, creating digital or print drawings and designing fully-functional products. To be successful in this role, you should have an eye for color, shape and international design trends and be able to translate requirements into practical product features.

Ultimately, you will help us build products that are easy to use and are visually appealing to our potential customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for designing and manufacturing new products.
  • Research new trends on social media, design websites and trend setting companies to      develop designs and concepts for new standard products regularly and increase the product
  • Designing products which follow the required design principles.
  • Check Feasibility of custom products and analyse the complication with manufacturing the product and arrive at solutions or suggest changes to the product to make it feasible.
  • Research materials and techniques for developing new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Sketch drafts on paper or digitally (for example, using CAD).
  • Use 3D modeling software to design products and components.
  • Produce prototypes and test functionality.
  • Improve the design of existing products.
  • Design moulds for production if required.
  • Co-ordinate with the vendors for moulds and masters.

Requirements and skills

  • Work experience as a Product Designer or similar role is preferred.
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as autocad.
  • Good knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Sketch up and Rhino (Grasshopper is an advantage) or other similar software.
  • Experience with design and rendering software such as photoshop, illustrator or corel draw and V-ray or Keyshot.
  • Time-management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of color science and combinations.
  • Artistic and innovative flair.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Meticulous and diligent.
  • Strong knowledge of the industry and market trends.
